Maritime Security Director
Description
The position requires a minimum of two years port or shipboard security and five years of Management/Operational experience in corporate security or law enforcement; a Bachelor’s Degree required. The candidate must be highly detail-oriented and be able and willing to work efficiently in a face-paced, dynamic work environment. The individual must also be comfortable with about 25% of travel, have excellent interpersonal and English verbal/written communication skills, and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office. Candidate must hold a U.S. government SECRET clearance.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and monitor compliance of common standards for port and shipboard maritime security in consonance with operating line security officials.
* Ensure receipt and dissemination throughout the corporation of security warnings and information.
* Oversee maritime security activities of the Operating Lines, including maintenance of vessel and facility security plans.
* In coordination with MP&C Auditors, develop and maintain a current protocol to be used for the conduct of ship facility security audits.
* Establish and maintain liaison with and benchmark security organizations outside the corporation where meaningful to enhance corporate capabilities and processes.
* In coordination with other MP&C endeavors, develop and maintain a system that allows accurate tracking and analysis of relevant security statistics.
* Chair a committee of senior security personnel from the Operating Lines to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks.
* Represent the corporation in discussions with governments and international bodies.
* Develop and implement strategy to ensure compliance with existing and proposed legislation and or regulations.
* Conduct and/or participate in security audits of ships and terminal facilities as appropriate.
* Prepare reports of security matters and conduct security briefings as assigned.
* Conduct investigations of significant security incidents and independently or in cooperation with operating line personnel.
