Sr Training Specialist

Description

The Training Specialist supports a wide range of technical training for U.S. Navy “High Risk” tactical small craft training. Provides classroom and dynamic waterborne field training for various Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) small boat platforms. Incumbent will deliver information as provided through instructor guides and appropriate supplemental materials for U.S. Navy Maritime Expeditionary Security Forces / Commander Naval Installation Commands Harbor Security boat topics. Incumbent will assist in the development and revision of instructional materials as needed to meet the ongoing needs of various agencies served by the Center for Security Forces. Furthermore assist in the development of training metrics to determine effectiveness; identify new training and or other educational topics through needs assessment, performance evaluations and course evaluations. Incumbent must be available to travel worldwide and capable of possessing a SECRET security clearance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in related field and 8+ years of related experience or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree plus 8+ years of related experience. At least three years of experience in military tactical small boat operations is required. *National Registry EMT certification is a plus.

Required Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

• Graduate of Instructor Training Course, must have one of the following:

o US Navy NEC 9502
o US Navy NEC 9518 Naval Leadership Development Program (NAVLEAD) Instructor
o Instructor Delivery Continuum (IDC) Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) (A-012-077)
o Instructional Delivery Continuum (IDC) Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) Mobile Training Team (A-012-1011)
o Naval Leadership Facilitator (P-012-0045)
o Facilitator Training Course (P-012-0075)
o Nuclear Instructor Qualifications (NFAS) (A-661-0108)
o Nuclear Instructor Qualifications (NNPS) (A-661-0109)
o Other service equivalent upon approval of CENSECFOR Director of Training

• Military small boat operator experience; Prior USCG, USMC, USA or USN qualifications are required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Commitment to customer service
• Second Class Swimmer (or equivalent civilian level) Qualification: All instructors must be capable of satisfactorily completing the Second Class Swim Test as defined in the U.S. Navy Swimming and Water Survival Instructor’s Manual (NETC P1552/16).
• Normal color vision
• Computer literate
No Title 10: Domestic Violence convictions

DESIRED SKILLS:

Prior qualifications/certification as Harbor Security, Port Security, U.S. Naval Maritime Expeditionary Security Forces Coxswain or Maritime Law Enforcement Boarding Officer. Experience in technical training and adult education a plus. Familiarization with U.S. Navy “High Risk” training policies. Proficiency in all aspects of small boat operation to include but not limited to the following areas: Operational Risk Management, ROE/RUF, Navigation Rules of the Road, Mission Planning, Trim and Stability.
