Maritime Intelligence Analyst

Description

he Maritime Intelligence Analyst will serve as a team member in the Navy Intelligence Task Force – Maritime Security at the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) in Suitland, Maryland. The analyst will conduct commercial maritime intelligence analysis and reporting. Duties may include: researching, collating, reviewing, evaluating, and integrating data from multiple sources to assess the relevance and significance of commercial maritime developments. Prepare analytical reports, briefs, databases, studies, advisories, estimates, and evaluations. Identify information gaps and develop collection requirements, analytical tools, and methodologies to fill these gaps. Some topics include piracy, threats to shipping, network nodes, counter-proliferation, and counter-terrorism. Be able to work independently. Some minimal travel required CONUS/OCONUS.

Required Skills:

- Must possess a TOP SECRET/SCI clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
- At least 6 years in primary job skills. Bachelor Degree (can be substituted with a minimum of six years related analytical experience working with Intel Community partners)
- Knowledge of DoD operations and Intel Community organization
- Understanding of all-source intelligence analysis
- Knowledge and understanding of the intelligence collection process
- Demonstrated ability to brief senior personnel on multiple issues
- Practical work experience using the following; Analyst Notebook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Intellipedia
- Knowledge of commercial maritime databases

Desired Skills:

Possession of CI Poloygraph is beneficial but not required.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Political Science, History, Maritime Commerce, etc.). Training: Service Intelligence Analysis basic school or its equivalent. Advanced/specialized skill-specific courses are desired.
